  • 2D Layer Between 3D Layers?

Posted by Bernd Garving on May 27, 2006 at 5:36 am

    Hi there,

is there any way to put a 2D layer (which I rendered out of several 3D layers) between 3D layers?
When I do this, all the layers beneath disappear.

    Regards.

No. 2D layers break the render order of 3D layers. Your 3D layers should still show thru transparent areas, though.

… unless your 2D layer is completely opaque and fills the screen. 🙂

Make the 2D layer a 3D layer, position and scale it so it looks correct, then set it to auto-orientate towards the camera.
I do this a lot ot make bluescreen actors appear surrounded by 3D elements.
