The iMac 2012 hardware and Premiere CS6 functionality??
Hi everyone,
I realize the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX with the new iMac 2012 is not “officially” supported yet for PPCS6(version 6.0.2), but, I’ve tried this very popular “hack” anyway to see what would happen.
My old 2010 with the ATI Radeon HD 5750 worked just fine with the Open CL list change to the PP text file. My new replacement iMac is the “cool” 2012 (i7, 32GB OWC ram) and comes with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX. The program runs well initially with the CUDA support text file hack, then crashes. I’ve done several re-installs of PP, then updated to 6.0.1, then 6.0.2, then the hack…same result. Only when I don’t do the hack is PP stable. I’m not sure if it’s PP or the OS…any ideas out there?
I know, “just don’t attepmt to do it in the first place”. Adobe doesn’t support it, I know. But I feel like CUDA should at least be able to work with such a card?? I’ve made a request to Adobe to make it so…but who knows when they’ll get around to solving this. I’m guessingt the CC backlash may be occupying most of there time lately, instead of dealing with the old CS6.
I’m going crazy trying to figure this out. I can’t be the only one…
