Adobe Premier Cs6 – keeps freezing and will not render.
I have added in DSLR footage that is 1280 by 720 1.0 progressive into a 1440 x 1080i UFF 25fps. Of course the footage does not match. So I have used Magic Bullet Instant HD to up to 1440i etc.
Is this the best way to do this or should I instead modify and interprete the footage to change to UFF, 1.333 to match sequence. Or am I complicating this and I can just DSLR and Scale to frame.
At first it was saying media being loaded and nothing was happening it was just freezing. I kept haveing to reboot the computer.
No viruses, disk are defragmented.Anyway, premier keeps freezing, and I have to shut it down and restart it and I cannot get it to successfully render make it through a render.
I have also upgraded to lastest patch, adn I have thought to start a brand new sequence and reload. At least now it says media loaded, but can;t get through a render.

My first question is why are you trying to edit in a 1440 timeline. This is technically HD and is what sony HDV uses for a frame size, however it is not a deliverable resolution. My suggestion would be to cut the DSLR footage natively and the AME handle any scaling for your output.
I might be misunderstanding your post but i am guessing that you are trying to make a PAL DVD, so if you could give more specific details, it would be helpful. If so you will not need to upscale anything because a PAL DVD will have a final resolution no larger than SD video.

I have been taught to work in the format native to my camera which is HDV 1080i by 1440. And only export to the final format when ready to go to air to match the TV channel. It is for Television. After tons of research, I found as I started to strip off MAGIC BULLET looks, Premier stopped freezing. And after more research, I found magic Bullet has a bug that freezes Premier Pro and a new patch is available that corrects the error. So I have just finished downloading the upgrade.
However, it brings up a good question, with laying DSLR at 720p into 1080i. Should I use Magic Bullet HD and lay 1440i DV PAL Widescreen on DSLR to upscale to match footage. Or should I use Premier Pro “Interpret Footage” to 1440i and then Scale to FRAME to get the size to match. Which is the better method to retain the highest quality resolution of DSLR? But the final format that I have to export is dependent on which tv channel wants the footage and how they want it.
