    Hi,
I need Your advice on my future editing setup.
i’m currently building my editing/grading suite.
i’m considering buying custom self-made PC workstation.
I would like to have GPU k4000 quadro nvidia for horsepower and for broadcast monitoring blackmagic decklink 4k extreme. I will do a lot of broadcast editing and i will also edit/grade footage from 4k blackmagic production camera. all in 10bit. for monitoring i will use fsi 17′ 10-bit broadcast monitor. for gui – i still don’t know – maybe a 10 bit eizo. And now my question is – am i doing my setup right? k4000 quadro will be only used as a horsepower for cpu right? so why do i need 10bit on it (decklink will handle monitoring). Only if i had, for example, srgb color space editing it will be needed with 10 bit computer monitor (eizo for example). only in that case k4000 quadro output will be used to monitor video, not on 10 bit fsi monitor (because k4000 do not have sdi) but thru displayport from k4000 quadro to other 10 bit monitor. AM I GETTING IT RIGHT? as far as i understand premiere pro can handle only one video card and it will be k4000 quadro. but for mercury playback i can use blackmagic decklink 4k extreme just to have sdi i/o and k4000 quadro for doing horsepower stuff like gui and effects – right?

You answered your own question: you don’t need K4000 just for 10-bit monitoring in PP and AE if you’re using Decklink 4k Extreme for that, with a proper monitor.

    Exactly.

    thx for response
but what about cuda cores and mercury playback acceletarion? can u use k4000 benefits and still be using decklink just to monitor video on broadcast monitor? k4000 for doing the horsepower stuff like gpu acceleration and connceting computer monitors to it, to see the timeline window etc while monitoring on decklink?
