When I draw a simple arrow in photoshop and import it into premiere pro it comes in with a background. I just want the arrow. Also, what format do I save it in?

Your post doesn’t say, so I’ll assume nothing…

    1) make sure that when you make a new file in photoshop, that you set the background as transparent
    2) Save as a regular Photoshop file
    3) When importing into Premiere, you have the option to keep layers separate or combine them.

It SHOULD be that simple. If not, there may be something else at play…

    Good luck!

Thank you so much. I’m many hours and a lot of coffee into a project that is over my head. i drew a yellow arrow on the checkerboard background which I understood was transparent. That’s all i need for an instuctional video we’re working on. No matter how I saved it, it wouldn’t go into PremeirPro. It’s probably some simple setting, but as I said, I’m in over my head. Our main editor bugged out on us:)

Also, make sure that the photoshop file is in RGB mode (not CYMK)…

If you double click the background layer, the name changes to layer 0.
Delete this layer so you are only saving 1 layer with transparency.
    Save as psd.
    Import into Premiere.
