May 24, 2006 at 11:48 amLooks pretty good.
My Problem is, I have the german version of AE7 and some expressions need to be translated.
Slider need to be replaced by Schieberegler.
But I don’t know how to translate the following:
comp(“Guide_A”).layer(“Controls”).effect(“Color”)(“Color”)Error Message:
After Effects Warnung: Klasse “Effects” hat keine Eigenschaft oder Methode mit dem Namen ‘Color’
Expression deaktiviertFehler in Zeile 1.
Komp.: ‘Text_A’
Ebene: 2 (‘Rumfliegen’)

May 24, 2006 at 12:30 pmyikesmike – I’m glad you like it. I will be monitoring this thread so if there are any questions just let me know.
BausDTown – Unfortunately, I can’t help translate. Hopefully someone will be able to help; possibly Mylenium? If there is anything else I can help with let me know.
Thanks

May 24, 2006 at 12:36 pmAmazing effect, but since it’s a very complex comp with expressions (I think most After Effects users are designers, not programmers) wouldn’t it be better explained with a video turorial?
Forgive me if it sounds dumb, but I really learn much better with videos…
Anyway, great work. -

Since it does involve expressions, it needs text, explaining expressions via a video is okay but in the end, you are going to be right back to good ol’ text and so…

May 24, 2006 at 2:02 pmthis was a really cool tutorial even though it took me most of the night to get through it. I downloaded a similar project I found at the adobe ae forum called “create a path in 3d” that you can probably find by searching. it uses index in an expression to offset the letters on the path and lookAt to keep them oriented to the path so it is a slightly different approach. unfortunately I didn’t note the location of the thread. Im wiping the sleepers out of my eyes now and heading off to work. thanks for the great tutorial but you get no thanks for keeping me up almost all night

May 24, 2006 at 2:13 pmI’m not aware of any plugins that can do this. Thats not to say they don’t exist, I’ve just not heard of any. I tried to be both concise yet maintain clarity, that doesn’t always work for evereyone who might read a tutorial especially one with expressions. I would be happy to try and give more clarity to particular conceerns if you would like to post them.
