  • Cure for yellow blotches in AVCHD video?

Posted by Per Arne sandvik on March 21, 2013 at 1:57 pm

I used to have an older AVCHD camera, but decided to upgrade to Sony HDR-PJ10. One of the issues with the old camera was that video from low-light environments was very drab, grey, grainy and with very limited range. The PJ10 is an improvement in this area, but a consequence of the video gain is that low-light footage has a lot of ugly yellow blotches. This especially applies to white/light gray areas such as wallpaper.

I understand that I can’t eliminate this problem without getting better camera hardware, but would appreciate it if anyone knew a way to filter this out in Premiere pro CS6. I have tried reducing the saturation of that particular shade of yellow, but that doesn’t really give a good result. Any tips?

My video is AVCHD 1920:1080p 50 fps.
