Recently had an issue in Premiere Pro where I would ‘Render entire work area’ (about 30 seconds of warp stabilized footage dynamically linked from After Effects). Footage would render and play back just fine, but once I saved, quit after effects and re-opened, the footage would no longer be rendered.

Is this normal? To me it doesn’t seem so – it seems like it should remain rendered after restart, but maybe I’m wrong. I made no changes to any of the footage before or after quitting the program. It is a pretty large after effects link I’d assume (it’s very shaky footage that was Warp Stabilized in After Effects w/ synthesized edges – thus will be more data-heavy than a regular default Warp Stabilizer).

Any ideas on how to prevent this? Or am I stuck having to re-render every time I open? (takes about 35 minutes each time, and I have a decent machine 🙁 )

    Hi Kyle,

We ran into a similar issue not too long ago, although it didn’t involve Dynamic Linking. The suggestion I can make is when you first open your project look at the bottom of the timeline, you will see a progress bar showing your media loading – which includes the render files. First premiere loads your original media and then loads the render files. I’ve found if you change/open sequences or move a clip around before this progress bar finishes it sometimes stops loading the render files.

It may be a separate issue because of dynamic linking, but hopefully this helps.

    Good luck,
    Mark

I realize this is an old thread but has anyone found a cause for this?. I am using dynamic link to import some AE comps into Premiere Pro CC. Once the app has quit and reopened, the render files are gone. I have saved everything, and no drives have been taken offline.
