Workflow for Premiere CS6, DaVinci Resolve and RED Cine X?
Hello,
I am trying to figure out what would be the best workflow for my situation. A quick summary: I just finished editing a short film which was shot on a RED One (4K). I used DNxHD proxies (1080p) in Premiere CS6 to edit the film. Right now I want to start grading with DaVinci Resolve but at the same time the director of photography wants to make adjustments to the used material e.g. stabilize some shots or readjust the framing (we want to end up with a 1080p master). We are on a very tight schedule and we want to work as simultaneous as possible. At the same time we want to keep the re-rendering processes to a minimum so the quality doesn’t suffer too much.
What would be the best way to approch this? We are using Premiere, After Effects (Mocha), DaVinci Resolve and RED Cine X Pro but also have access to Final Cut Studio.

Two ways of going about this.
First is if your DNxHD footage is something high quality like 185, 220, or 220x.
Take your edit into Resolve and begin grading. Have your DP export 1080p DNxHD and then replace those portions/regrade in Resolve.
Second way of doing this if you have a proxy DNxHD file like DNxHD36 is to bring your edit into Resolve, conform your edit to the original files. Begin grading and then incorporate your DP’s footage and just make sure they render out DNxHD at a high level; again something like 185, 220, or 220x.
In either case you aren’t recutting the length of material so far as I know, so no reason to revisit Premiere.
