  Premiere Pro CS4 won’t open on iMac

  Installed Adobe CS4 Production Premium on my iMac awhile back. With all the negative chatter about Final Cut X I want to brush up up on Adobe Premiere Pro. When I try to open the Premiere app I get this message: “can’t open … not supported on this architecture.” I regularly use Photoshop and After Effects from the same CS4 suite. Any idea what’s up with Premiere? Even when I try to reinstall Premiere from the Adobe DVD’s it stalls during the installation between and 3rd and 4th disc. Any suggestions?

  What are the specs on 4? That’s about 3 years old at this point and honestly, brushing up on CS4 is going to be quite a bit different than 6. I’m thinking there’s just an incompatibility issue between Premiere Pro and your current iMac.

  I would suggest downloading the free 30 day trial of CS6 if you want to brush up on the skills.
