  color grading not showing properly on TV

  Just curious as to why it seems that on televisions, the color grading I have done to a video dooesnt seem to be nearly as intense? Even when testing a video where the magnitude is all the way to the end of the color wheel, it doesnt look nearly as harsh on the TV as on the monitor. Am i going to have to color grade on a TV then if the final product is for DVD or am I missing something?
