Will Adobe CS 5/6 have the same workflow in Windows 8? Ex: Can I drag footage from PR to AE?
As the title says, I would like to know if anyone has Windows 8 and Adobe CS5 (or higer).
I’ve heard/read that you can’t have multiple windows, example: 1 window with files, 1 window with PR, 1 window with AE etc at the same time.
If that’s true, then you can’t drag footage from PR timeline to AE which is possible in W7.
This concerns me, I hope I’ve read wrong.Hope to hear from you soon!

According to the Adobe blog, there are no immediate problems witn Win8, but for my two cents, I never upgrade an OS until at least the first Service Pack comes out. By that time I’m sure that all possible drivers have been updated, and that things are pretty stable.
That said, there is a know issue with Photoshop and Win 8, which is fixable, but listed as a bug:

Audition had some third-party drivers problems.
That’s all I’ve found, but it’s enough for me to restate my first sentiment – wait for the first Service Pack, which usually means there’s been time for full third-party drivers development.

If it’s your work computer, I would probably wait a good 6 months before upgrading because of driver stability, like Joseph mentions.
With that said, Windows 8 does have a desktop — The tile interface IS the interface, but you can also run a desktop. If that ever becomes an issue you can still click on something, begin to drag it (so it locks to your mouse) and alt-tab to your other program. I doubt very much that Microsoft changed alt-tab functionality.

Windows 8 is just Windows. I had to re-install AE but other than that I’ve had no problems with Adobe applications and their normal functionality.
