here’s a screengrab of the section I’m wondering about:

When setting up a new project, does anyone recommend any settings to change here? I’m editing RED 4k files in a 1080 timeline. plenty of ram and a fast processor (6 core cpu, 64gb of ram)

not sure if I should leave it as is, select another codec, preview file format or resolution.

thanks in advance for the help!

Well, you have SD settings going on there.
Have you dropped a clip on the “Make a sequence to match” icon at the bottom of the project pane?

Your preview files don’t matter so much. Go with what’s easy on your system. They are temp anyways.

When you master out – that’s what matters.
