Media Browser files appear different on desktop than removable drive after copy
Ok, I have something really strange going on and I was curious if anyone else ever had this issue. I did a shoot the other day using a Panasonic AG HPX250. We had two 64 gig cards so we wouldn’t have to pause. The first card came into premiere perfectly after I copied the files over to the desktop. However, for the 2nd card, the files are acting really weird. When I use the media browser to look at the files on the p2 card they look fine. (Although for some reason it broke the one section into three segments of exactly the same length even though we didn’t pause the camera) That aside, all of the content was there.
When I then look at the folder where I copied these files to there is a major issue. There are four separate clips that, when I click on them, bring up the exact same video clip. This doesn’t make any sense because the four files have different file names and those names match the file names on the p2 card. On the p2 card those files bring up the appropriate media. In other words I can only access the media from the p2 card. Whenever I try to copy it to the desktop it creates that issue. I have tried it three times and each time I do it continues to screw up those four files.
This is so bizarre. I cannot just keep this footage on the P2 card. I need to get it on the desktop properly. I can’t tell if the problem is occurring when the files are being copies over from the p2, or if there is some problem with the way premiere is accessing those files once they are copies over. Any suggestions?
