Well, I just authored my “FIRST” DVD using Encore. The project was edited it in Adobe Premiere CS6. I was working with 1920 x 1080 DSLR footage. I did a Dynamic Link timeline workflow into Encore. Everything I saw indicated the DVD would be (720×480). I used all the default settings hoping the quality would be acceptable, and it is not.

I could use some encouraging advice everyone. Can I do ANYTHING with the bit-rate or some other setting to help?

    Best Sunday Afternoon Regards!!

I never use DL. Try this:
Export from Premiere to mpeg2-dvd, ntsc widescreen high quality, VBR2pass, max render quality, no multiplexing and no preview files. Set source scaling to scale to fill otherwise you get two small bars on the side.
When exported import video and audio file into Encore, make menu and make folder or iso.
Check navigation (and quality), if ok burn to disk.

Update: I watched the DVD on a 720 flat screen TV and it looks great! On my compter… it looks horrible!

What do you mean horrible; interlaced lines?
Dont sit so close and dont view it full screen.
Use a proper dvd player like Power dvd.

Hi… thanks. I was too close, I was looking at it on a monitor that was more than 720. Looked much better on my Flatscreen TV. Not thrilled with the quality on the menu text, but the video quality is pretty good, MUCH better than DVD Studio Pro
