Hi I think I have done all one can, and now I really need some advice

stuck with a 45 min project and the project has been crashing for the past 3-4 days

Done a clean reinstall every thing works fine. but not that project. don’t even get time to get in a nose around to find bad clips as it closes before i can do any thing..

Really stuck and dead line has passed. On borrowed time. CS6 and all updated on clean drive. what more can I do.

tried going to old save but thats puts me week back in work and the most recent one crash as well.
trie new seq when i got in once work for a bit. also new project and imported seq to that and that went well for a bit. now I and going to be shot. premier in 7 days.

    Any tips please.

also if any one know how to send a large file over the internet and fast.

Mac 10.7 gc 4000 for mac 12g memory

    Thanks
    Trevor

    Try deleting the cache files.

My usual suggestion is start a new project and import the crashing/corrupted project into it. I’m amazed at how often this fixes issues.

    Hi Angelo,
silly question, as I am new to Premier:
how do you import an old project into a new one? Do you need to import all media and secuences individually?
Is this the same as opening up an older version of the project or creating a copy of the project?
I too have a project that is crashing on autosave.
    thanks!

Have you tried to trim/move the project with media manager? this could well work if it doesn’t crash while you’re doing it.

It sounds like you might have a corrupted piece of media. If you have sound effects or other footage from suspect sources or attributes that are vastly different than your project, take the elements off line (delete them from the project drive and put them on an external drive) Let us know what works

Hi well now I have picture lock. yes running all day with out a crash. Ok once on start up but then I tried again and 12 hours later god for the next 4.
Any How there was one IMPORTANT thing I found that out and above a very large project was that I had made a clean install. but had forgotten to make sure that the drives don’t go to sleep could be just another to give PP a problem.. So may be a good thing to check.

Thanks all for taking the time to answer all very interesting reply’s
