  CS6 backwards play lagging

  Hi everybody. I am currently giving the cs6 Premiere Trial a go on my PC. Specs are 16 GB RAM, i7 2600KCPU@3.4Ghz.

  I’m cutting AVCHD 1080p at 24fps and am getting severe lagging in video when playing backwards. For instance if I tap the l key several times to shuttle through the video at high speed then quickly hit k to pause and immediately j to play in reverse, the video freezes for about 8 to 10 seconds before playing in reverse. Sometimes the screen goes black during the pause as well. I also have noticed that the files play much choppier at high speeds in reverse when they play smoothly at high speed forward.

  Any settings recommendations y’all could throw my way? I am currently using the onbard video card (saving up for a dedicated video card) Could this be the culprit? Also, should I make it a point of separating (different drives) capture scratch from project files like we used to do in the old Final Cut days?

  And for the record, I also have Vegas 11 on the same system that plays the same files flawlessly. Any suggestions?
