Once in a while I use the word “special ist” with out the space. Because contained within that word is the name of a popular drug used by men who like to sit in bathtubs, it is quarantined for review by a moderator.

I understand the desire to not have spam on the forums, but it is kind of silly when one word contains the same arrangement of letters that are in a banned word.

    My two cents.

ah, saw this thread already addressed below – never the mind. I would have used the new COW search function, but I did not want to search for the name of a bathtub enjoyment drug!

    Hi Mike,

We are sorry for the inconvenience, but the problem is that spammers use so many variants that we have to run with a looser, rather than tighter, definition of key spam words. If we didn’t, the site would be buried in spam.

Again, our apologies, but it is the price of having a cleaner board free of the kinds of stuff that we see all over the net today.

No worries. I will use the word “expert” from now on.
