I have long swirly shapes (masks) in After Effects. I want to reveal them, but using masks is not an option: too many shapes (100) and too time consuming.
I tried using the paint tool with the write-on setting on the alpha channel. This was quick and easy but the problem is, I need to continuosly rasterize the shapes in another comp. The painted alpha channels were giving me unexpected results.

so the question: How do I simply, easily, quickly reveal vector art (or masked shapes) but still keep the ability to continuosly rasterize intact.

I hope this makes sense, thanks!

did you try using a stroke set to all masks… stroke sequentially…reveal orig image and then animate the start, end with a large brush size?

depending on your shapes that mat work
