While I’m becoming faster in CS6 the way it handles audio drives me NUTS! Even when I go into every clip and change the audio to be mono – using for example right track for both left and right, when I close the edit it reverts back to Left and Right. Has happened time and time again. This morning I had to change 37 clips.

While I’m happy enough to be away from FCP specifically X, FCP7 sure does a better job handling audio.

Frustrating AM after a really tough afternoon/evening edit yesterday.

    Y’all have a great day!

Are you using the “fill right” and “fill left” stereo audio effects? This is the traditional way of “mono-izing” stereo tracks, and I have never had an issue with Premiere forgetting that these effects are applied. By using copy and paste attributes, you can apply these effects to multiple clips simultaneously.

    Thanks Eric:

I have been using in the timeline – right click, Audio Channels, Modify and then assign the channel I want to both channels. Since I do a lot of run and gun, I set my camera to Left channel is on Automatic and Right channel is on Manuel. 99.9% of the time I use Right channel audio only – IE: for center track on interviews. So the right channel gets assigned to the left and right tracks.

FCP it would just always put left channel on one track and right channel on the other. Just learning how to manipulate Adobe’s thought process. Just drives me nuts to have both channels go to one track in the timeline.

    Have a great day.
