DVD SP4 Output troubles
Hello.
I’m working with a Mac Pro
Quad Core Intel machine with OS X 10.6.8
My work flow is this:
FC 81 minute long HDV 1080i60 sequence
Exported to QT Movie (not self contained)
Brought that into Compressor to make 90 min Best quality DVD for DVD SP4
Imported the elements into DVD SP4, deleted the menu and made the track first play.
Watched the simulation and filled out build and burn, named and saved into the folder the previous files were in. Build and burn. The DVD plays on the mac but not on a DVD player. I get this message: ‘Check the disc: it may be damaged physically or may require cleaning’

Not sure why you’re posting in the Premiere forum… GET OUT!
Just kidding. If you’re confident that the video file was compressed in the right format then:
– Burn the disc at a lower speed. Burning a disc at high speed can introduce errors that some players/drive have an easier time correcting than others
– Are you using DVD+R? Your DVD player may not be compatible, especially if it’s older. DVD-R is the preferred “universal” format.

Thanks. That was my first post! I do use -Rs. I’ll give a slower speed a go. When I burn a DVD from Compressor it plays just fine. I want to use DVD SP4 so the chapter marks work.

HI, where do I change the burn speed. Looked around and couldn’t find it. 🙁

Make sure you’re creating a DVD, as in standard def, not a hddvd.
