  Anybody know

  For some reason Premiere CS5.5 is not handling my AVI files very kindly. What I’ve been trying to do is import an avi made with camtasia and camstudio. Within each of those programs, I’ve tried every single codec available in the AVI container, and after the video renders it plays perfectly every time in VLC and in Media Player.

  But… when imported into premiere, it turns into a garbled mess of distortion, flickering and looks completely corrupted. Anybody know what might be going on? Thanks for any help.

  I find native camtasia avi files inconsistent. I usually export to QT animation or H.264 codec. Then edit in PPro.

  Thanks Jon, I totally overlooked the fact I can “produce” / output my video in various formats like mp4… I thought I was stuck with the original avi container and compressor format I selected in video capture settings. Everything works perfect now, thanks!
