    Hey Everybody,

I’m sure this question’s already been answered, but I can’t seem to find it.

We’re trying to switch from FCP7 to Pr CS6, and for some reason there’s inconsistency in the audio during playback through the Kona 3. Sometimes it will playback with crackling audio, sometimes it will play fine, and sometimes it won’t play at all. Here are the settings I have:

    Computer –
    System Preferences>Sound>
    AJA Kona3

    Premiere –
    Preferences>Audio Hardware>
    Default Device: System Default Input/Output
    Buffersize: 512
    Preferences>Playback>
    Default Player: Adobe Player
    Audio Device: AJA KONA 3 – o, Slot 2
    Video Device: AJA KONA 3 – o, Slot 2

    Mac Pro OS X 10.7.2
    Kona3 10.3.1
    Quadro FX 4800

    Any info will help,
    Thanks,
    Aaron

    Hey Tom,

I’ve got the Adobe Drivers and the audio’s still acting up. I’ve noticed that before I configured Premiere to use the Kona, it didn’t seem to have any audio problems. I’m wondering if I have a preference set wrong.

It looks like your preferences are right.

To tell you the truth I recently had issues and uninstalled the drivers myself. It does run without issues with no AJA drivers installed, just no external monitoring.

AJA release a bulletin about it on the site, these are the lines that are important for your problem:

It is critical that both the System Preferences audio settings and the Premiere Audio Hardware preference not be set to “AJA”. If either is set to “AJA”, audio drop outs or distorted audio may occur.

To correct the issue, reset the System Preference settings and Premiere Audio Hardware preference to anything other than “AJA”, and reboot your system to correct any audio issue that may be occurring.
