  Closed Captions

  Anyone having any success in export the Close Caption titles directly to a digital file IE: ProRes? Really need to get this done. Using .scc and see it fine it the timeline.

  Quicktime files act differently than printing to tape. Just like you have audio and video streams, you’ll have a caption stream. It’s basically subtitles, or pseudo closed captioning.

  As far as I know, Premiere can’t embed caption tracks natively but I know CPC’s CaptionMaker can embed them. A google search for “quicktime caption” will reveal some alternatives as well. https://www.synchrimedia.com/ looks like a low cost alternative that handles scc, but since I’ve not used it personally, I’d suggest grabbing the demo.

  Ii have been happily using MovieCaptioner for a couple of years. Never had to CC DVDs until now. I have made the .scc files but can not get them into DVD Studio. Tried everything including contacting MovieCaptioner. Tells me Incompatible Format. Plays perfectly in QuickTime, Flash, etc. Made sure the frames were correct, drop frame VS non drop frame. Just can not get it into DVD Studio.

  Driving me NUTS!
