I’ve tried 5 or 6 different edit scenarios and each time I try to export out an OMF, I get all kinds of errors. I even tried to export an AAF so I could open in AVID to export an OMF or Audio AAF out and Avid doesn’t recognize the AAF. Has anyone else tried exporting OMF’s out with any luck? The only somewhat luck I have is exporting to Audition, then exporting an OMF from there, but that is a clunky solution. Adobe has been really cool and supportive, they even set me up so I can send the project to them to look at, but it’s still frustrating that I can’t get anything out to give to my audio guy.

I just tested that last week. My audio mixer said that the OMF I made in CS6 opened in protools fine. Did you embed the audio?

I just did another test. I went from Premiere to Audition, then made an OMF. Gave it to my audio guy and he has able to open it in Pro Tools. The cool thing is that he created an AAF and I was able to open that in Premiere. I still am having issues exporting an OMF directly from Premiere though.

Strange, yesterday I exported an OMF with embedded audio for my sound guy and he had no issues with in Protools either.

Maybe it’s worth posting your timeline settings or the exact error Protools/Avid is giving you.

I exported an OMF from Premiere with 6 audio clips in it. I then imported it into Audition as a test with no problems.

I exported it as “Separate Audio”. It opened with 12 channels, linked in stereo, in a “Multi Channel” Audition project.

Do you have the audio clips selected on the Timeline? Then Export->OMF. Sequence 1 is the default. Opened the Sequence in Audition. Had to point to the first media file, it found them and imported them.

This may be totally off track, but: If you downloaded the trial software and then bought the full version, there are a couple of extra downloads that aren’t installed with the trial.

    Good luck!
