Canon 7D and Zoom H4N synch problems
Hi,
I’ve just used my Canon 7D with a Zoom H4N for the first time to film a live music video – but it slips out of synch pretty quickly. My settings were:
7D – 1920×1080 at 25fps
Zoom – 44100 16 bitI’m editing in Premiere 5.5 and the audio from the 7D shows up as 48000 compressed, and my sequence settings are 48000 too. So in Adobe Audition I re-saved my Zoom audio files as 48000 16 bit.
But it still slips massively out of synch – the length of the song is 4.55.06 and by the end it is 28 frames out of synch. It’s the audio that lags behind the 7D footage. I’ve read lots of forums and watched loads of tutorials but I can’t seem to work out how much to speed up my audio by to make it match the pictures.
I’m not using any synch software and am not sure if there is any for Premiere that would fix this anyway. So all in all this is stressing me out!
1. What am I doing wrong?
2. How can I fix it?
3. What settings should I used next time to avoid this?
Sorry, there were no replies found.
