Canon 5d 29.97 –> 23.976 conversion
I accidentally shot some footage in 30fps on my 5d when I meant to shoot at 24fps. I’m assuming that it’s best to just edit the 30p stuff in with all my 24p stuff and have it be converted to 24fps upon final export (rather than converting to 24fps now, then exporting AGAIN later).
Any of you post super-nerds have any best-practices tips for this? (btw ‘post super-nerd’ is a total compliment, I know you’re out there Brian Newell)
If anyone knows why Adobe Media Encoder spits out an .mp4 file when I select the standard H.264 HD1080p23.976 preset, I’m curious about that as well….

Either way, you’ll have to convert before your final export. And if you wait and convert after your edit and replace the footage, all your edit points will be off (not something you want).

I usually use Twixtor for that kind of thing. Not free, but faster than most other solutions I’ve seen.

“Do you mean, as opposed to another extension?
As far as I know, this is the Quicktime wrapper, and supports the AAC format.
I’ve also seen .avi .m4v .mkv .h264
