  • Off camera audio recorded in 44.1khz wont sync with 48khz project

I’ve recorded on a Canon 550D with onboard sound as a guide AND used an off camera device to record main audio. The 550D is sampled at 48khz (i6 bit) but unfortunatly the off camera device was at 44.1(32 bit).

The result of this is that the off camera audio drifts out of sync over time. I’ve tried to resample the audio from 44.1 to 48 using Audition CS6 but it doesn’t seem to change the length of the clip when replaced in Premiere.

Any suggestions that could get me out of this pickle?

I’ve had this problem from time to time. Sometimes 44.1k files sync and sometimes they don’t. Try converting the files to 48k and importing those into Premiere. I use Sound Forge for the conversion. Works most of the time.
