CS6 and DSLR
Posted by Cody Walters on May 8, 2012 at 12:59 amI haven’t downloaded CS6 just yet, but was curious, does CS6 have a tool to generate timecode off of Canon DSLR footage? I’m specifically talking about the Media Start and End meta data when brought into Premiere Pro.

May 8, 2012 at 4:09 amCreate timecode for it? Like QTChange? No…you have to use QT change. Although, someone found a HUGE BUG with PPro and QT change, that was recreated in CS6…and will be addressed soon. Not in this current version.

But it is only an issue if you want to take the footage outside of PPro for any reason.

May 8, 2012 at 6:36 amActually the bug with QTChance interaction was in QTChange, and they fixed it.
The other bug was just in roundtripping AAF files, and that is something that we’re working on and hoping to get into an update soon.

May 8, 2012 at 2:10 pmBe sure to get the most recent QTChange. See this short post on our team blog about this:

May 8, 2012 at 2:59 pmOne more issue. I see that my timecode is now being read in the media browser, but how can I sync my clips based on timecode? I’ve selected the clips, right click to synchronize clips, but the timecode button is greyed out. Am I missing something or going about this the wrong way? I am trying to set up a multicam edit between two cameras.

May 8, 2012 at 4:48 pmThis would be a great feature to add to Prelude, add timecode on ingest from the THM files.
