  Adobe CS5.5 and AVCHD importing

  I am using CS 5.5 and the Sony HXR- MC50U. Is there a way to import the entire file directly including the metadata. I am doing a ‘movie dub’ now from the internal HD to the SD card and importing it from the card. The resolution is ok, but not what I expected from an HD image.
  And in addition to the included mini USB to female A adaptor, do I also need to buy a male A to male A usb 2.0 cable as well to import the larger HD files (not the compressed AVCHD) directly into CS 5.5?
