I’m getting to the point where my font list is getting pretty bloated. I seem to recall that the fonts are loaded when windows boots which can take memory and slow the computer down..

What do you guys do for font managemnt. I’ve searched and havn’t seen anything recent and Adobe’s type manager was taken down back in 2005.

What do you guys use? or what’s a good suggestion?

    thanks
    Jeff

google returned about one hundred commercial and freeware/shareware font mgrs for Windows.
Extensis seems to own the market on Macintosh so might be a worthy W products.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

yea, what is the consensus for Font Management on the Mac?

I have used Suitcase in the past, but am looking into Font Book.
One thing I do not like about Font book is that it seems to “read” all the Fonts, active or not, when you start Font Book. With thousands of Fonts, this takes a long time. I do like the simplicity (and price) tho.

    any thoughts?

For the Mac- Linotype has a free program called Font Explorer X. It looks like iTunes and is basically brilliant. Just go to Linotype’s website.
