  • Problems exporting to Media Encoder in CS 5.5

I’ve been working on a project that contains many short clips (roughly :30 to 5:00) that are to be exported separately.

I have successfully exported most of my project, but for some reason I can no longer export to Media Encoder. What happens is the export settings in Premiere come up successfully, and when I click queue, it goes through the process as normal. However, the export never shows up in Media Encoder. I have tried importing it directly from Media Encoder, but when I render I get an error, which in the log is described as “encoding failed”. I have also tried rendering directly in Premiere, but it never gets past 0%.

I have tried moving the project to another machine, but I am still unable to properly export. When I open the project on that machine, it hangs on “locating media”.

The only constant I can think of is the hardrive, which is an external using usb 2.0 (a nono I’m sure, but at the time I have no alternatives). The thing is, after a month of work I have had no problem with this. Also, the scenes which in the past have rendered successfully continue to do so.

I have reinstalled the entire CS5.5 suite but the problems remain.

My main machine has the following hardware:
    i7 2600
    Nvidia GTX 480
    16 GB ram
    500 GB Hard drive.

I only have a couple of scenes left. A simple workaround is all I need, though advice for future reference is always appreciated too. Any help anyone could provide would be excellent.

    Thanks.
