  What is the best way manage workflow with multiple editors on single project

  Is there a workflow solution for multiple editors working on te same project, at different workstations that are not in the same office? Whats’s the best way pass sequences back and forth?

  For example:

  Editor A works on main edit.
  Editor B creates titles and does color correction
  Editor A gets back color correct + titles sequences and continues to make a few more adjustments.
  Editor B gets final project back and creates the final export.

  Is this possible?

  If titles are created inside Premiere pro they are saved with the PP proyect file. If color correction is made with the PP color corrector filters, it´s saved with the proyect file too. If its made with any external plugin, editor A must have same plugin instaled in PP than editor B.
  Then if both editors have all the original media in both offices, the only thing you have to exchange is the PP proyect file. If not, you can export to a mobile hard disk the full proyect including all the media used in it with the Proyect Manager, so the other editor will be able to open the full proyect and all its sequences.
  Editor A and editor B must have same PP version, at least same 64 bit or 32 bit version in order to open proyects with same transitions, filters, etc. CS3 or CS4 proyects can be opened into higher versions, but not the other way around.

  Hi….

  1) Both editors start with an identical set of media assets
  2) If possible, those media assets should really be all lumped together in one folder.

  If this is the case….the Premiere Project file can be sent back and forth without the media and can be relinked on either machine.

  If an editor creates additional media (like Photoshop files for example) they need to be passed along as well so that the media assets at both locations stay in sync.

  you might look at https://www.dropbox.com as a way to create a collaborative portal between the two locations.

  While the other answers address your issue… why not simplify the workflow?

  Editor A locks the edit
  Editor B does finishing and export

  If you’re not working in the same office with constant access to the same assets, plugins, and/or workstations then it’s advisable to keep hand-offs to a minimum for the sake of sanity.

  If you need to make constant tweaks to the edit, send editor B updated Project files but I wouldn’t bother with round trips. Try medium res (720p) preview files so you can give thumbs up to titles and color.
