Hi, I’m new here. I’m trying to apply a gradient wipe transition, but am noticing that the start and end, or A and B, of the transition are not cleanly separated from one another. In other words, the frame immediately before the transition is completely A, but the next frame, the first frame of the transition, jumps abruptly forward to incorporate a larger percentage of B than it does on a frame by frame basis for the remainder of the transition. It then does the same thing again between the last frame of the transition and the first frame of B. How do I resolve this if possible? I’m using CS5.0, if that helps.

    The same here.
I’ve been trying to find a workaround for that, but for now (no more time with the project) I have to do with the Gradient Wipe Effect (from VideoEffects->Transition->GradientWipe, tutorials can be found on that), where I can create a wipe pattern of my own and have some more control over the fade. But then I have to create the wipe with keyframes for every crossfade, timetaking..

But still trying to understand how to make this simple transition work, the above is too much work for everyday cutting…
