  Quadro 4000 on mac – fan spinning up high on bootup

  Anyone else with a Quadro 4000 on their mac noticing the fan
  speed is excessively high on the quadro?

  I read somebody said to launch premiere, play a red .r3d file
  and it spins down.

  turns out if you just launch premiere it will also spin down to idle speed
  which is much quieter.

  for now as a workaround, I have premiere as a startup item on boot up.
