I’ve tried exporting a video (intended for the web) using one of the H.264 presets in Premiere Pro CS4. I’ve played with a few of the settings but I always get the same result in playback. Opening the MP4 file in Windows Media Player is jerky, almost if it’s skipping frames or something.

I’ve made sure the preset settings match the source file (like frame rate, etc) and I’ve encoded to other formats and I only have this problem with H.264.

However, as this is intended for the web, H.264 is essential. Any thoughts?

Have you tried playing it back using a different program instead of WMP? Or on a different computer?

What are your encoding settings – frame rate, data rate, keyframes, resolution, etc.
