Hello everyone. I need some help in terms of capturing footage to my laptop. I’m using Firewire-USB adapter to connect my camera to my laptop. Apparently CS5 doesn’t see my camera. I would assume that I need some kind of additional software or codec. Please note my footage was created in HDV 60fps. Thanks.

Firewire usb adapters are a waist of money.
If your camera has firewire you need a real firewire connection on your computer.
What make and model is your camera?

JVC GY 110u. I also have IMAC with build in firewire output, however my final cut doesn’t see 60fps only 24/30. Any ideas???

FCP? I thought this was a Premiere question.

FCP has an HDV 720p60 option…if you run FCP 6 or 7….or 5.1.

The JVC HDV format is 720p

I do have both platforms. However I would prefer to deal with FCP. So under audio/ video settings I tried to select the following

    Sequence Preset: HDV-720p60
    Capture Preset HDV
Device Control Preset ( HDV Firewire??? mot sure if this is the right one, please advice )

Video playback – Digital Cinema Desktop
    Audio Playback -Default

    Easy Setup:

Format – HD (it show 59.94fps)
    Use-720p 60

This is what I have selected and no positive results. please help me, thanks.
