I am having an issue with Premiere Pro CS5 and making files offline. I am trying to link existing RED footage with color corrected footage which I have been successfully doing for about 85% of my clips so far. I have done this by selecting the clip I want in the Bin and making it OFFLINE and then I click “Link Media” afterward and connect it to the color corrected RED footage. It preserves the timecode of the clip in the timeline and just replaces it with the new color corrected footage. But like I said this is only work about 85% of the time. The other clips just won’t go offline when I click them, they just stay as they are and replacing the footage doesn’t do anything. This doesn’t make sense and is very confusing. Please help!

When weird things happen I do 3 things.

    1. Trash Preferences

    2. Clean Media Cache

    3. Delete Preview files

For more info on these processes. Google is your friend 😀
