I have the CS5.5 Master Collection (activated), and I’m trying to import some m2ts footage from my camcorder. I was able to import the same exact footage before, but for fear of some viruses (unrelated) I did a clean install.

Now, the weird thing is, some of my camera footage can be imported while some can’t – and it’s all the same format. When I try to import the specific footage clip(s), the error message reads: “the File Has an Unsupported Compression Type” – but when I change the name slightly – it freaking works!

I can add to the name, subtract from the name, remove the spaces, add spaces, change the name of the file entirely – it doesn’t matter, as long as I make a change to the footage clip’s name, it works – what the F? Does it really expect me to go through and re-name every piece of footage that it doesn’t like the name of? Why so temperamental? I do not recall having this problem before.
