Premiere 5.5 crashing
Ok guys, I have a self built PC running Win7 ultimate. I have 12GB of ram, a 1tb hd, adn the latest gigabyte motherboard. I am running Adobe premiere 5.5. I have been editing a short film for over amonth now and the other day i went to open it, (nearing completion of the film) and it freezes every time now. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, i tried rebooting my computer, i ran a memory diagnostic, i tried making a new project and importing the old sequences in (they contain over 100 hours of work) and nothign works, every time i try and acsess the files it freezes. The videos were shot on a sony prosumer level camera, i forget the number. Once again, it has worked up until now it just randomly crashes. The project file is 24mb. Someone please help!

Hi Alexander,
I you suspect a software corruption, it’s best to use the Adobe Cleaning tool before a new install.
A few other things to try, import into a blank project, delete all your cache / preview files while the project is closed. Do other auto-saved files exhibit the same behavior?

Yes, all of the auto saved files are like this. However one is not, it will load the first 4 scenes (i saved a 2 copies on 2 different hard drives but did not update the one save file) so when i open that one (comprised of the first 4 scenes), it loads.
