  Transcoding XDCAM for CS5

  I’ve attempted to transcode some clips from an EX1 for
  delivery to an editor using CS5. I’ve transcoded in Compressor,
  using MPEG2 Program Stream. Apparently after import she can only get
  audio to play. Does she need Quicktime? Is there a more elegant
  solution? I’m also delivering 640×360 footage for smaller file
  sizes.

  I’d appreciate any advice.

  Give them the raw backups…the camera masters. CS5 works with this format natively.

  Also, 640×360 will look like crap. No need to transcode.

  …you’ve got PPro confused with FCP.

  PPro just loads XDcamHD/EX and edits it. Send the camera files.
