We’re switching from Final Cut to Production Premium CS 5.5. So this question actually covers all those programs. But I figured most of the PP use Production Premium or at least AE and Photoshop.

Basically, in Final Cut Studio, you can install the applications on your boot drive and the additional media — templates, sound fx, etc — on another drive to save space and increase run speed. So all the Final Cut Studio Apps are about 5 – 7 GBs in size if you move over the additional media.

This is easy to do and it is easy to reconnect the additional media to work with the apps installed on you boot drive.

For Production Premium, I see it take up 21 GBs of storage on your boot drive. Is there any way to offload pieces of it the way I describe for Final Cut Studio?

    Thanks in advance.

    Short answer: no.
Everything is installed into the Adobe folder(s).

From past experience, with all the updates over the course of a release, how much more space (than 21 GBs) will I need? 2 GBs more?

    Thanks Again.
