    Hi everyone,

before I get into the headache i’m experiencing here is my set up.

    Mac Pro 2×2.4ghz intel xeon
    12gb or ram
    mac os 10.7
    ati radeon 5770 HD
    nvidea quadro 4000
    apple 27″ display
    alienware 21″ display
    premiere pro cs5.5
    cineform neo 3D

I’ve got a ken burn effect type project i’m doing for a very good client. however im running into headache after headache. I’ve sorted out most of them but the one that popped up today is just beyond me and frustrating me to no end.

I’ve gone trough and got all these huge 6K size stills down to a nice manageable 1920×1080 pan/scan & zoom. I brought them into Remaster and converted them out to the Cineform codec. I brought them into Firstlight and did a MUX on them. I did the paralaxing to get them looking pretty good. I opened up Premiere and set up my timeline for a Cineform 1920 25fps timeline. Dropped in the MUX Cineform files and the red render bar shows up, which it shouldn’t since the files are in the Cineform codec. Anyway I went to render the timeline and got this error message “Error compiling movie. Unknown Error”.

I went back and did the whole thing a second time and ended up with the same problem. So here I am stumped and waiting for Cineform to get back to me with an answer. However I got a boss breathing down my neck on why it isn’t “done” yet and “why can’t we show the client something now now now”.

So I’m appealing to you guys out there for any help or ideas.

    thanks

    cheers
    james

Cineform seems to be nonfunctional on the Mac at this time. I downloaded the new version of the Go Pro Studio which gave me access to their new codecs about a 2 months ago. When I tried to export some projects from Premiere / After Effects and Adobe Media Encoder. It crashed with the same error message. I spoke to the guys who code it and they spent an hour with me as we repeated my experience. They said it would be fixed shortly. I never heard back from them. I gave them a call about a month ago and they said they know what the problem was and it would be fixed shortly. It wasnt. I think professional need to avoid Cineform in the future.
