PP CS5 crashes when exporting a m2t file project
I’m starting to get desperate with this issue:
I’ve edited a 3h HDV 1440×1080 project and every time I try to export it (to mpeg2 dvd, mpeg hdv, H264 bd) Premiere CS5 crashes (closed unexpectedly).
My system is a Mac Pro 3.1, 10gb ram, OSX Lion, Quadro 4000.
I tried disabling the mercury engine hardware acceleration, upgrading cuda drivers, updating Quicktime, installing Adobe updates. All with same results.
One particular observation is that the so far produced file stops about the same point (but not exactly the same clip)which led me to believe that some m2t files were corrupt or something.
I took this segment and edited the same way in a windows system and exported it with no problems.
This is the first time I have this problem and really don’t know what to do. Any Idea?

If you suspect that the problem is one of the clips, as you’ve suggested, have you tried disabling the clips—one at a time–and exporting? This is how I would isolate a problematic clip if I suspected that one of them was causing the problem.

Hi Carlos,
Well it does work on a i7 64 bit Quad Core PC perfectly running Premiere Pro CS5.5.1 and/or Premiere Pro 1.5.1 , my son uses a Mac but, iMovie and has no issues ? Could be the Mac , we have no suggestions there.
If it is a 3 hour project, cut it up into 1 hour sequences ?

Todd: When I remove the suspect clip, it does the same with another one.
I’ve never had an issue with same kind of projects in the past. These clips don’t even have a color correction fx.Bob. The project has already three sequences and yes, my I7 worked it out just fine but all my resources are in my Mac pro. Besides I hate to accept that I spent 4X on my Mac pro than my PC for half the performance.

Solved!. Installed CS5.5 and exported a troubled segment with no problems, hopefully It will do the same with the whole project.
