I have a client that wants to have a simple line animated acrossed a map of Northern California. I was wondering if anyone else has done this and want to know where did you get your map from? We were thinking of grabbing some screen shots from Google earthpro and bringing them into A.E. also another thought is filming a map. If anyone had any experience in this it would be great.

yes finished a job of map animation.
You just need to get a good picture of a map from internet and trace the lines of it in illustrator or in photoshop so you get a nice picture like 5000 x 5000 pixels. a then brig it to ae a trace a line with a line mask and stroke effect aplied to it
