Trouble with Huffyuv Lossless Codec
A family member asked me to convert some Digital8 tapes to DVD for him. Online I purchased a cheap USB capture device (EasyCap – https://www.amazon.com/EasyCAP-DC60-Creator-Capture-High-quality/dp/B002H3BSCM), and then used VirtualDub 1.9.11 64 Bit to rip the videos.
While the videos play in VLC perfectly, there is video but no audio in Windows Media Player. When I try to import them into Adobe Premiere CS5 / Adobe Encore CS5, there is audio and no video.
After looking through assorted forums, I figured that it was some kind of codec problem. When I brought the file into GSpot v2.70a, it informed me that the “HFYU – Huffy Lossless Codec – Codec(s) are NOT installed.”
However, even though I was sure I had installed this in the past (“Huffy AVI lossless video codec” listed in control panel), I uninstalled, follow the instructions to the letter, (https://neuron2.net/www.math.berkeley.edu/benrg/huffyuv.html) and installed it a second time to no avail.
Is there something I’m missing? Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks internet!
