  Premiere Pro Safe Margins

  I have an HD project (1280×720) that will be aired in both HD & SD. I’m looking for a way to show the safe margins for SD so I can make sure and keep all my footage and graphics in 4×3 safe area. Is there a way to enable both HD & SD safe margins?

  I’m sure there is, but I cannot find a way.

  Hi Troy,

  I attached a file that should do the trick, just overlay it over the footage and scale down 66.6 (1920×1080 resolution)

  I was also looking for a way to do this. But it’s been 7 years since this solution was provided. Is there still now way to get an SD safe margin overlay in Premiere Pro?

  Nevermind, I found the answer.

  For anyone else stumbling on this thread and you want to include SD safe margins along with your HD margins, click the Wrench Icon, select Safe Margins to turn them.

  Then click the Wrench icon again and select Overlay Settings and then Settings.

  Find the check box which says “Include 4:3 Safe Margin”.
