I have a QT Ref i exported from my Avid Meridien Xpress 4.6 timeline. My Avid is lower-field based, so I kept all my compositions and AE export settings as lower field first. I exported as a Quicktime with No Compression. Upon re-importing it into my Avid, I told Avid it’s a lower-field movie that i’m reimporting.

Upon playing, i see stuttery playback. Hard to describe, sort of looks like it’s shaking a tiny bit. Odd thing is that some shots are perfectly fine (*i think*). Thinking that maybe it was some weird field order issue, I reimported it at upper-field first. The movie was MUCH more stuttery now. Any ideas what’s going on?

    I’m using After Effects 6.5.

Just choose “Upper Fields First” while importing into Avid. That should solve your problem. Don
