  • Running Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 on PC and Adobe Premiere CS5.5 on Mac Compaitibility??

I am running Adobe Premier Pro CS5 on my PC (with great results) but will be working with my film partner who plans to be running on her Mac Book Pro Adobe Premier Pro v. CS5.5.
    Can we work together?
Will I be able to read in my video files for rough cuts and save them in a format that her Mac Premier Pro CS5.5 can read in for finer editing…… or vice versa?

Would I need to convert my files to a Quicktime file for her?
Any suggestions, warnings? Should I upgrade to CS5.5 myself?

    Hi Martha,

You should be fully compatible with your current formats and version. Filters can be an issue. On the upgrade question, it should not matter (not 100% sure on that, but backward compatibility usually doesn’t affect dot releases).

Although 5.5 includes bug fixes, I would be hesitant to upgrade in the middle of project.

Actually there is an issue. You will be able to send projects to him without any trouble. But his PP5.5 will update the project files on import to the new version, and there is no way he can save a project that you can open. You’ll have to rely on XML to send anything from him to you. How well that works will depend, I expect, on the kind of project you will be working on.

The will be no problems with the media.
