  Firewire capture

  Capturing dv from a Canon Gl-1 through firewire to Premiere CS 5.5. Capture works fine but when pausing or stopping the tape, there is loud static/distortion which only stops when the capture window is closed. Is there some setting I have overlooked?

  Try a different cable or firewire connection on the computer.

  Thanks for the suggestion. Tried a new cable and a new connection – still get loud distortion when paused or when using shuttle.
